|
|
Hi,
I'm having trouble with VCF files output by Apple's Address Book application. It seems that multi-record files are not parsed correctly; they only show up as containing a single record, and some fields (street address etc.) are missing / mixed up.
I've put two files up for testing at
http://www.giesler.biz/~bjoern/webdisk/public/dsorganize/
One was encoded using VCF 2.1 format, the other one using VCF 3.0. Both contain the same two test records.
Regards,

Well first off, DSOrganize does not support multi-record files, so you would need to save them as two separate vCard files. Other than that, I can look at the parser some more.
EDIT: I'm also noticing you are saving the phone number and address as a work address and number, whereas dsorganize currently only recognizes home only. I think I am going to add a feature where it will figure out automatically. _________________

OK... would supporting multi-record files be a big thing? It's a royal pain in the ass to save my about 300 contacts one-by-one. Sure, I could write a script... but if DSOrganize could read the things, so much for the better.

DSOrganize enumerates vCard files to be listed on the menu. It does not load them all beforehand. Also, editing vCards would be a royal pain if it supported multiple entries. _________________

Try your vcards out now. While dsorganize does not still load multiple entries, it will parse the important data in both of those cards!
EDIT: I should have DSO soon where it will separate out multiple entries to respective single cards, look forward to this :> _________________
